Kate Hall
Child and Family Therapist / Social Worker
Kate is a qualified social worker with experience supporting children and their families when they have been through adverse life events or had experiences of trauma. She sees her role as providing a safe, therapeutic relationship for children where they can fully express themselves and experience calm connection and co-regulation when these emotions feel difficult.
Theraplay has become integral to Kate’s work supporting families as it allows a space for parents and children to be supported by a practitioner in the moment, share joy, and to strengthen positive attachment bonds through play. Kate works collaboratively with parents to come up with strategies where these experiences can be transferred to home or school environments.
Kate works from a holistic point of view and uses her social work background to understand all the stressors and strengths happening for children both in and outside the playroom to make a treatment plan that supports goals of long-term change.
Kate is originally from the deep South of New Zealand and has been enjoying finding all the best coffee spots Melbourne has to offer. In her time outside of work she enjoys travelling with friends, weekends away camping, going to yoga and watching live music.
Kate practices in both Moorabbin and Yarraville clinics for CoRe Kids Therapy.
