Hello and a warm welcome to you

I am a provisionally registered Psychologist and Humanistic Play Therapist and I offer a holistic process for your little one. What this means is that while I work with your child, I also consider the factors that may have affected them. Through conversations with you, I learn about the elements that may make them who they are and how they may have developed to where they are today.

When you first come see me, we sit and chat about your little person and about your observations and experiences as their parent or caretaker – we will talk about what is important to you and what concerns you; we will also talk about what is important to your young person, what works well for them and areas of support.

As everyone is unique, your child’s needs and goals guide what happens next.

Depending on the situation, I may aim sessions at nurturing specific skills by playfully and creatively moving through interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy adapted for children or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy adapted for children. Alternatively, sessions may be set entirely in play as found in Child-Centred Play Therapy (please click here for further information). Regardless of the session structure, you are an important part of the process, and parent catch-up sessions will often be a part of this process.

Throughout our time together, I aim to deeply listen, understand and respect the experience of your little person as well as yours as the parent or caregiver. I will draw on evidence-based knowledge to guide our process.
