School Readiness Program

• Sunshine Circles are adult-directed, structured play therapy-based groups
• Focus on the social and emotional development of children through building self-esteem and trust in others
• Great opportunity for children to learn and practice emotional regulation skills with others and experience success when trying new settings and challenges in preparation for school readiness
• Instead of talking about positive social behaviour, the group leaders and children DO positive social interaction. Gradually, positive messages from the groups become a part of the child’s internal sense of self
• Children embrace the three rules of Sunshine Circles… No Hurts, Stick Together and Have Fun!… and carry them with them throughout the day.
